Leopold Desk Company

Grandfather Starker purchased the Northwestern Furniture Company to keep son-in-law Carl Leopold at home.  Renamed variously, the Rand-Leopold and later simply the Leopold Desk Company, they manufactured high quality wooden office furniture for 102 years, before closing in 1990.  Aldo's brothers, Carl Jr and Frederic ran the company after Carl Sr.'s passing.  An excellent history of the company is by John Roth.  Check out his link to read more:

LLA inherited 2 Leopold desks when we purchased the Starker-Leopold House from Dr. Carl & Billie Hays.  The Hays agreed to leave all original Leopold items in the house.  Thanks, Carl and Billie!
